Backcountry skiing and splitboarding, are popular private guiding activities that I have years of experience planning.
I offer guided backcountry tours to a variety of areas in Hokkaido.
And will allow the weather to decide where we will go on the day of your trip.
I have introduced brief descriptions of some of our more popular backcountry areas below, so please read through these to get an idea of your trip.

Backcountry ski guiding is very popular with people who are in town resort skiing but want to experience the beauty of our backcountry environment for a day or two. Backcountry touring ski packages are also ideal for clients who want to schedule a convenient date and time.
A combination of different guided backcountry tours is possible too.

Guide’s Expenses

Your quote will contain reasonable and modest guide expenses during your program. These include driving costs (unless you drive the guide), accommodation and meals (does not apply to day tours), etc.
Before booking your private program we will give you a final quote as to cost.

Excellent powder skiing area isn’t just Niseko. Hokkaido has a lot of others areas (e.g. Shiretoko, Yuubari, Horokanai, Northern Hokkaido).
I offer various types of customized private tours exclusively for you.
Please feel free to contact me!

All tours begin with your guide picking you up directly from your accommodation in one of our comfortable 4WD drive vehicles between 8 AM and 8.30 AM. You will be contacted the evening before your scheduled trip about an exact pick up time.
Depending on your equipment we will get the required rental gear for you or head straight to the trailhead.
At the end of your successful powder day your guide will take you back to your accommodation.

Mt.Daisetu Sidecountry tour

Mt.Daisetu (Asahidake) has the best dry powder due to the harsh winter environment.
No need to hike up. Take the gondola to the powder zone.

You can easily enjoy the finest powder over and over again.
After powder day.Warm your body up in popular hot spring at the ASAHIDAKE ONSEN!

Mt.Tokachi area Backcountry tour

Mt.Tokachidake is active volcanos!
You can feel dynamic and fantastic nature.

Mt.Furano-dake, which is popular in the backcountry, is also located in this area.
The lower slopes of it offer reliably good snow, great gladed backcountry skiing, and seemingly endless terrain.

Niseko area Backcountry tour

World famous Niseko. Magnificent scenery and great terrain invite you to great powder trip.

You can spend most of the day in open alpine terrain with beautiful views of the Sea of Japan.
You can also easily enjoy powder in the side country using the Niseko Lift Network.

Booking Info

I’ll supply you with a quote that will include all expenses such as rental gear when I know your requirements. Registration requires a deposit of 20% of the quote or, for trips of three days or less, full payment.

I ask that you familiarize yourself with Guide Office Pika’s detailed booking information.

Risk is an inherent part of all mountain activities. I strive to manage and reduce it however, it is impossible to totally eliminate. Learn more about our safety and risk management approach here. Please note that you will be required to sign our waiver before commencing the program.

The balance of payment is required eight weeks before trip commencement. Should you cancel more than eight weeks in advance of the trip, a 12000yen cancellation fee will apply. Cancellation between six and eight weeks before trip commencement will mean a loss of your deposit. Cancellation less than six weeks before trip commencement will result in a loss of all payments made.
